Léo Caillard

Léo Caillard is a French visual artist of the young generation. Born in 1985, he trained at the Ecole des Gobelins and quickly became known for his photographic games. His desire to explore our relationship with time also pushes him towards working with marble through several series of completely original busts.

From photography to sculpture, his technical mastery makes him a perfectly polymorphous artist who invites reflection on our world in each of his works. This talented young creator represents a generation of artists who question society, identity, our invasive relationship with images.

He practices diversions and anachronisms to pass the codes and behaviors of our contemporary life – the profusion of images and stories, consumerism – through the filter of an iconoclastic and meticulously developed creative process. Léo Caillard knows well, and is amused, that we most often linger in front of a work as if we were looking for our own image, across the centuries.
